Folding Social Exhibition
Overview
Folding Social is an exhibition that was curated, designed, and maintained by RMIT Master of Communication Design students. To effectively bring innovations that are commonplace in Finland to the Australian community required distinguishing the most locally relevant concepts and creating cardboard works that had recognizable meanings. We worked in five distinct departments titled Project Management & Branding, Print, Installation, Digital, and Public Programs. Each responsible for a different aspect of the exhibition, the groups worked to a master timeline and budget to deliver their concepts.
I worked on integrating Augmented Reality(AR) into this exhibition as a member of the digital team. Additionally created a 3D walkthrough video of the exhibition space, which was featured on our website and let visitors get a peek of what was on display. Collaborated with other teams to get the assets needed for development and successfully managed to get the desired AR output.

Augmented Reality in Event Catalogue
The event catalog, which contains details about the show, is distributed to the audience. To bring even more exciting when the audience is seeing it, we thought of incorporating AR in this catalog, which makes them experience AR content on some selected pages. This static catalog can be altered by AR to provide a better engaging experience.
Catalogue has three pages integrated with AR Experience
- First Site Gallery page with 3D map
- Curatorial page with Video about the exhibition
- Installation page with Images of the installation on the site.

Overall, the AR filter created by 128opens has achieved remarkable results within a day, engaging a wide audience, capturing their attention for an extended period, and leaving a lasting impact. It has successfully leveraged augmented reality technology to create a unique and memorable experience that has resonated with users and sparked their interest and participation.
Through the innovative use of augmented reality technology, the filter has provided a unique and memorable experience for users. Its ability to seamlessly blend the virtual and real worlds has captured the imagination of many, resulting in a high level of engagement and interaction.
